The village is adorned by two long rows of plane trees, with prairies and hills all around. Water is everywhere. It is wonderful to stay here and enjoy the freshness or just to take a break before going further on towards the coast or inland, to the north.
You need a sense of curiosity to slip into the adjoining streets to discover the active presence of water. Canals and sluice gates, fountains and washing places make their way between the houses.
Some 2 km to the south of the village, on the road to Signes, is a special place, a haven of peace and freshness and a delightful place to walk. The Chartreuse de Montrieux is nestled in a clearing in the middle of the forest. The monks founded the monastery in the 12th century. From here, a large number of walks of varying lengths begin, and are especially appreciated by people from Toulon, who come here to recharge their batteries in a natural setting.
From the Chartreuse de Montrieux, you can follow the forest footpath for most of the way to your destination. After passing the underground water storage tank to the right, take the little path to the left that climbs up to the Aiguilles de Valbelle. After leaving this magnificent site, follow the same path back.
