This village is currently undergoing major developments. The new residents and visitors on holiday enjoy the calm and the pleasant environment, while having access to shops and services nearby.
Not far from the village, like an eagle’s nest, the remains of the feudal castle look down. The sight of the powerful 15-metre-high moat and the clearly visible arrow slits all go to show that this was once an action-packed site. A magnificent place to look out over the Puget-Ville plain in Cuers, the Maures and Saint Baume mountain ranges, the sea off Hyères and the Iles d'Or, and all the way to the snowy mountain peaks (in winter) of Ubaye.
Rocbaron has long been considered the major dark-sky preserve in France. Telescopes for observing the sun, the moon and the stars have been set up at the Verrerie site
